Kristen Murkowski, Speech Therapist

Kristen Murkowski
Speech Therapist

Hello parents and students!!! My name is Kristen Murkowski and I am a state licensed and nationally certified speech-language pathologist here at the Hope Institute Learning Academy. I have been with HILA since August 2010 and I am proud to be a part of such a talented and supportive team.

While doing a high school project I had the opportunity to observe a speech-language pathologist who worked in a special education classroom. I saw first hand the difference she made and by the end of the day I knew that I had found not only my future profession but also my passion.

I continued my education at Western Michigan University (GO BRONCOS!!!) and earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. After that I moved across the state to attend Eastern Michigan University where I received a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. I began working in a school as soon as I graduated and love my job more each and every day. I am truly honored that I am able to help children find their own unique voice and way to communicate.

Aside from my work I love music and sports. I like to spend my free time going to concerts, watching my favorite teams, and exploring all Chicago has to offer. Please feel free to email me at anytime at kmurkowski@thehopeinstitute.us. I look forward to hearing from you!
